  • Awarded to seniors who plan to have a career in education and return to Georgia to teach.

    Gwinnett Federal Credit Union Minimum scholarship is $500. The ultimate amount is usually more than that. Selection Criteria:
  • Must be planning to earn a college degree in education. (Leading to a teaching certificate.)

  • A two page, double-spaced, typed essay expressing why you desire to further your education, describing the experiences you have had in community services and explaining the reasons why you need financial support for your education.

    Three $1000 Scholarships (One for vocal performance, one for musical instrument, and one for performance art)

    Eligibility:
  • Show a strong commitment to performing arts and must be a high school junior or senior planning to attend a college or university.
  • An overall B average or above.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities in school.
  • Cannot be related to anyone employed by the Classic Center.
  • Perform at the audition.
  • Complete the application for the scholarship and submit it to the Classic City Cultural Foundation.
  • Agree to have picture taken for use in possible promotional material for the Classic Center

  • Selection Criteria:
  • Applications must be approved and signed by the county Farm Bureau president where the application is being accepted before being submitted.
  • Students submitting application must be a high school senior for the current academic year and plan to be enrolled in a unit of the University System of Georgia or Berry College during the 2012-2013 school year pursuing an undergraduate degree in agricultural and environmental sciences, family and consumer sciences, or a related agricultural field.
  • A formal high school photo should be attached to each application.

  • Must have a Cumulative of 3.0 GPA based pm a 4.0 scale.
  • If selected, must submit a letter of acceptance to a higher education institution to Univision no later than June 30, 2013.

  • Walter Harrison Scholarship: Several $1000 scholarships
  • A.T. Sharpton Scholarship: $1000
  • A.T. Sharpton Unrestricted Scholarship: $1000
  • Eligibility:
  • Each recipient of all scholarships must be a customer of Jackson EMC or the son or daughter of a customer and be a resident of the home served by Jackson EMC. .
  • Walter Harrison Scholarships: Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and academic ability.
  • A.T. Sharpton Gainesville College Scholarship: This scholarship award is available exclusively for students planning to attend Gainesville College. Financial need is a primary consideration, and judges also consider academic average, class rank, standardized test scores and/or faculty recommendations.
  • A.T. Sharpton Unrestricted Scholarship: This scholarship award is available to students attending any two- or four-year college or university in the nation. Judges will consider financial need; however, academic average, class rank, standardized test scores and/or faculty recommendations are of equal importance. This scholarship is available for both undergraduate and graduate students.
